Wake Up

After a day’s worth of flying — had a lengthy layover at Dallas/FTW (FTW!) — I landed at McCarran International Airport in Vegas at about 10 p.m. last evening. Garry from PokerNews met me at the baggage carousel, and when my overstuffed bag finally turned up it felt a little like I’d won at roulette

Form and results point to Matt Dartnall’s speedster, says The Lord. You have to fear (!) a number of things, more of which later, but there really is only one greyhound that can win the Derby at Wimbledon on Saturday - and that’s Ballymac Ruso ([3.7]). It’s the only scenario that form students can have after the quarter-finals and semis, because Matt Dartnall’s dog has been faultless from the boxes and set the fastest time in the event in both races.

Things That Won’t Happen at UFC 98

UFC 98 is Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with light-heavyweight champ Rashad Evans defending his belt against Lyoto “Bruce Leroy” Machida, and Matt Hughes and Matt Serra finally meeting in a co-main event heralded as a grudge match but more akin to “Oh Jeez, Just Get the Damn Fight Over With” bout. What do the Red Sox do with Big Papi?

I can’t say that it’s the most talked about thing in Red Sox Nation, because frankly, no one really wants to talk about it. They’d rather talk about Jason Bay’s great numbers, or Daniel Bard’s premiere, or how great it is to have this much talented pitching. But it’s on everyone’s mind

It looks like the war of words between Ferrari and the FIA is ON. Yup, we’ll be treated to a war of words in the next few weeks between one of F1’s premiere teams and F1’s governing body

Roger Federer has won his first singles title of the season and his first against Nadal on clay in we can’t remember how long. Roger won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 against the world number one who was clearly a different player than the one witnessed yesterday against Novak Djokovic in the longest ATP match in history, 4 hours and 2 minutes. Nadal never seemed to get the fire necessary to turn things around as he did in yesterday’s second set against Novak who had won the first won so decidedly
