A laurel and hearty handshake to SNY’s Gary Cohen, deserving winner of our inaugural TV Voice of Reason Award for this exchange with Ron Darling entering the bottom of the eighth Friday in Boston: Cohen, after listening to almost everyone in Fenway singing together: “Fenway Park, where the fans actually like the song ‘Sweet Caroline.’” Darling: “Everyone participates. Congrats to Team New York San Da

Congrats are in order for Team New York San Da for their performances at that New York-area underground show in Friday. The event may have been unsanctioned and unregulated, but the fact that you stepped into the cage to test and sharpen yourselves speaks volumes to your progress as a fight team

ESPN’s resident Bostonian, Peter Gammons, said here on “Mike & Mike in the Morning” that the new Yankee Stadium is poorly conceived and widely ridiculed.

XY Factor: Friday 22 May

The XY Factor heads to Pontefract for the 8.30 race on Friday…..

After the Magic stole an exceptional game in mid-week, it’s up to the Cavaliers to hit back… Nick Shiambouros looks ahead to the weekend’s match-ups and explains why he’s sticking with Cleveland. The Cleveland Cavaliers were beaten 107-106 by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday in a truly amazing game of basketball.

George Riley’s record in recent weeks shows that fortune favours the brave. This weekend, as our rugby league expert uses his nous to see through “ridiculous” prices on both sides of the Pennines, will you follow his tips for a Bank Holiday profit? Timeform Horses To Avoid: Revue Princess

Timeform dish the dirt on a horse which you won’t want to be putting your money on… Revue Princess bounced back to form at Newcastle on Friday but her overall record suggests that she’s unlikely to follow up. It was a fairly poor race she won and unless facing similarly weak opposition next time, she’s certainly one to avoid. She is best when able to dominate and it’s doubtful she will be able to do this when facing slightly better rivals.

I used up so much of my space in the Friday column on Chris Russo’s excellent quotes that I didn’t get a chance to convey what I thought of his Sirius XM show after listening to it for five hours Wednesday. Here’s one thing I found interesting: When they were “Mike and the Mad Dog,” Russo and Mike Francesa enabled each other to push the outer limits of their designated personae - one an amiable goofball, the other an arrogant know-it-all.
